Magpies come through unscathedNot many Newcastle fans truly expected their team to come out of this game with their unbeaten start to the season in tact.At one stage some of them thought they could actually win this game and would spend the evening in dreamland.Man City showed their class in the manner of their comeback after being two goals down.Both Newcastle and City sit in the top five of the table with a big fat zero in the loss column of the table.

Newcastle winger on different planetAllan Saint-Maximin was the game changer for Newcastle today and seemed to change the outcome for both sides.With City in control, The Magpies attacker seemed to come alive all of a sudden and start running at the City defenders, looking to take them on with his silky skills.As soon as he did so, the fans were on the edge of their seats and Man City actually looked unsure of themselves at the back as the winger turned them inside out.He looked so dangerous in possession of the ball, anything seemed possible as he glided towards the visitors goal.On another day, he deserved to win the game all on his own.Credit: Reuters

Attack is the best form of defenceOften as a football fan, we hope managers forget about defensive tactics and want to see a game where two attacking teams just go for it against each other.That is exactly what we had here today and this will give the rest of the league some peace of mind that you can get at Man City at the back.Eddie Howe will be disappointed that they threw away a two-goal lead but the draw is a fair result over the duration of the 90 minutes.One thing is for sure, this game will live in the memories of all as an absolute Premier League classic.

The big question asked of any side looking to break into the top half of the table is how you compete against the ‘big boys’.Newcastle have been guilty of being of not being up to scratch all too often in these games.After going behind today, The Magpies have showed real grit and determination to get themselves back into this game.
